Rules & controls

Use every piece once to cover every pale dock square. Pieces may rotate or flip, but cannot overlap or cover dark water. Letters identify pieces as well as colors.

Choose a piece. Move the mouse over the dock to preview it, then click to place. The dotted corner marks the top-left of its bounding box, which can be water. On touch, tap a square to place at that corner; Undo is always free. Tap a placed piece to select it for moving.

Keyboard: 1–6 selects a piece; arrows move its preview; R rotates clockwise; F flips horizontally; Enter or Space places; Delete removes the selected piece; U undoes. Each placement or removal is one Undo step. Rotations and preview movement do not change the dock until placement.

Start with narrow pockets. A piece that fits now may leave a gap no remaining piece can fill. A hint searches for a complete packing from your current pieces; it reports a dead end instead of changing your work. Previewing a hint counts as help. Placing it is optional.

  2. Pieces may rotate or flip. Dark squares are water and cannot hold a piece.
  3. Choose a piece, preview its position and place it. Keys 1–6 select; arrows move; R rotates; F flips; Enter places; U undoes.

A quick example

A piece fits a narrow pocket, but check what it leaves behind: an isolated square cannot hold a five-square piece.
