Rules, scoring & sources

Each guess gives comparison clues at no extra cost. Green means a match; amber means a related position or some club overlap. Related roles use broad goalkeeper, defence, midfield and attack groups; a midfielder/winger spans two groups. Club overlap counts both players’ selected quiz paths, including hidden clubs, not their full careers. It does not mean they were teammates. Country flags show the guessed player’s national team; the answer’s flag stays hidden until you open that hint or finish.

Five guesses. Standard careers start with two clubs; Hard careers start with one. Use comparisons and optional hints to narrow it down. Each additional hint costs 10 points; each wrong recognized player costs 15. A correct answer earns at least 5 points. Revealing or running out of guesses earns 0. Duplicate and unrecognized names do not use a guess.

Hard careers collects 24 trickier paths with one starting club clue, not a timer or fewer guesses. Next skips finished players; Skip keeps your current attempt. After finishing a pack, you can replay it. Daily rotates all 128 players from 12 October 2026 (UTC); earlier dates keep their previous schedule. This is a finite bank, not unlimited new players.
